Born in the floodplains. Built by villagers.
The Crocodile Janta Party (CJP) began as a citizens' alliance protecting wetlands and indigenous land rights. In 2024, that alliance became a political party.
We are farmers, teachers, fisherfolk, engineers, lawyers and students. We are tired of watching rivers die, forests burn and farmlands change hands behind closed doors.
The crocodile is our emblem because it is the oldest guardian of India's rivers — patient, ancient, and unyielding. It does not negotiate with pollution. It does not bow to convenience. Neither do we.
CJP runs on member subscriptions and small donations. We publish every rupee of income and expenditure in real time. No corporate donor controls our policy. No family controls our ticket distribution.
How we organise
Block Committees
Every block elects a 9-member committee. They set local priorities.
State Councils
Block representatives form state councils that select candidates by secret ballot.
National Working Group
A 21-member group with mandatory rotation. No member serves more than two terms.
